Αlex chinneck: from the knees of my nose to the belly of my toes

Peeling away the original facade, british artist and designer alex chinneck has slid the front off a four storey house in the seaside town of margate in kent, UK. the original, derelict structure had been abandoned for 11 years, and its new face gives the appearance that it just slipped down, onto the ground. the artwork is the result of an innovative collaboration between the artist and british industry, as the self initiated £100,000 project was constructed from donations of materials and professional services from ten different companies. also supported by the arts council, england, the building stands out from its surrounding neighbors and offers a welcoming facelift from the previous discarded house that was an eyesore for the street.
