Professor Rainer Mahlamäki (born 1956) is a Finnish architect, President of the Finnish Association of Architects (SAFA) and Principal, Lahdelma & Mahlamäki Architects, Helsinki, Finland.
Mahlamäki studied architecture at the Tampere University of Technology, and was awarded the Master of Science in Architecture in 1987. He was a partner and the managing director of the architecture office 8 Studio from 1986 to 1993. From 1992 he was the founding partner of the Kaira- Lahdelma- Mahlamäki Architecture, and from 1997 partner of the Lahdelma & Mahlamäki Architects.
He was appointed Professor of Contemporary Architecture at the University of Oulu Department of Architecture in 1997, and Head of the department in 2000. Since 2007 he is the Vice-Head of the department, and President of the Finnish Association of Architects (SAFA). More >>>
