Rahul Mehrotra is Professor of Urban Design and Planning and Chair of the Department of Urban Planning and Design for the Graduate School of Design at Harvard. His firm, RMA Architects, sees a multiplicity of experiences as necessary for the evolution of culturally specific design solutions. They’ve designed and executed a conservation master plan for the Taj Mahal, a restoration of the Chowmahalla Palace in Hyderabab, and most recently, a social housing project for 100 elephants and their caretakers in Jaipur.
